Vocaloid:

since we neither have nor need the value of the hypotenuse we have to use tan tan(theta) = opposite/adjacent from the perspective of angle <4 the opposite side is 4 and the adjacent side is 3 see if you can try plugging everything into the formula to solve for theta

Paris:

Would the equation be tan(3) = x/4

Vocaloid:

close but not quite theta is always going to be the angle, not the sides so tan(theta) = 4/3 (opposite over adjacent) you will need to take the arctan of both sides to get theta = arctan(4/3)

Paris:

I got 4.13 and thats not an answer choice for me

Vocaloid:

hm. arctan(4/3) gives me 53.13 degrees not 4.13, is that one of the choices?

Paris:

Yeah but how?

Vocaloid:

there should be a button on your calculator that says tan^(-1) or arctan or you can use an online calculator, type in arctan(4/3)

Paris:

Oh I didn't do the arctan thing sorry
