\({\bf{What~is~Tagging?:}}\) Tagging is a method of getting a user’s attention. Simply type the @ symbol, then their username. It will send a notification to that user and will help guide them to whatever post needs their attention. Example: @Moon (no space between the @ and the username). You must type the full username, correctly spelled, or else it won’t work. You may even tag the wrong person, so be careful. It can be used in questions and in question replies but it does ~not~ currently work for the chat.

\({\bf{Guidelines~for~Tagging:}}\) 1. Please do not mass tag people. Generally you should limit the number of people you tag to ~5 or fewer per post. Otherwise, tagging a lot of people at once draws an unnecessary amount attention to your post and irritates many people. 2. Please be mindful of who you are tagging. Just because somebody is online, doesn’t mean they are able to help you with your problem. They might not know how to solve your problem, or they might be occupied with something else. > If you need help in a certain subject but you’re not sure who can help, you may try: a) Posting your question first, and waiting for somebody to find it. New questions automatically appear at the top of the All Subjects page, regardless of subject, so it will be seen by people who are online and active. b) Politely asking the chat who from the online list might be good at a particular subject 3. Please do not spam tag the same person over and over again. Try waiting at least 10 minutes between tags, and if they still don’t respond, they are probably busy. It’s the same logic as texting somebody 20 times in a row – it’s unnecessary.
