Which two statements about first-person narration are generally true? A)The narrator can be a witness or a reteller of events. B)The narrator always provides reliable information.C)The narrator accurately knows past and future events.D)The narrator is a character in the story.E)The narrator knows everything about all characters. anyone know ?
A is what i would say. E is an obvious no. B isn't always true. Say I'm writing about Jim. Jim works at an ice-cream shop but doesn't know who his boss is but has been told its his mother, this isn't true as his brother actually does. Jim doesn't know about that, so B is out. C is another duh, only an omniscient or god like narrator would know events that havent happened. Most stories dont have a character who can tell the future as thier protagonist because it removes suspence. And D isnt always true either. Though it rare authors can use the "child finds a diary" approach. The child isnt in the story but he is telling his friends about what he read.
