yeet69:

Why is French still used as the language for commerce in Morocco and Algeria? A. Both countries are seeking membership in the European Union, which requires the use of a European language. B. Arabic is used only for religious purposes, and it is sacrilegious to use it for anything else. C. Both countries are former colonies of France. D. The French prime minister is the head of state for both countries.

jhonyy9:

any idea about this ?

kittybasil:

I have never heard of anything such as (B). But I am not Arabic, so I wouldn't be sure about that. (A) is incorrect because the EU does not require use of an European language (see here); (C) is true; (D) is false.
