caira12:

Give an example of a unit rate that you have used in your life recently. Explain how you used this rate and why it was useful to you.

caira12:

@Vocaloid can you help me with this problem? or @Moon

TheSmartOne:

Do you cook or bake?

caira12:

yes sometimes

TheSmartOne:

So let's say you're making a smoothie And you normally make one cup just for yourself And you usually put in 3 teaspoons of sugar for your one cup

TheSmartOne:

But your friends hear about how great your smoothies are and they want to taste it So you need to make 5 cups of smoothie. How much sugar do you need?

caira12:

15 teaspoons which is also 5 table spoons

TheSmartOne:

Let's stick to just one unit so 15 teaspoons And that right there gives us a unit rate We need 3 teaspoons of sugar for 1 cup of a delicious smoothie You can modify the example to whatever you want it to be. But like the relevance for this example here, too little sugar and it's not sweet, too much sugar and it's too sweet.

TheSmartOne:

And so you can use any unit of measurement you want, hopefully that helps (:

caira12:

Thank you!

TheSmartOne:

No problem!! And welcome to QuestionCove!! (:
