I'm not entirely sure what 'relative distance" means in this situation however, the total distance should just be the all the distances added up, then you would calculate how much the car can go by multiplying the mpg rating and the amount of fuel left

I've tried looking on the internet and i can't really find much information about what "relative distance" means in this context however, my best guess would be: relative distance would be the distance compared to the origin (0) so you would start at 0, go 3 miles to the right (east), five miles to the left (west), and 13 miles right again (east) and see where you end up, compared to when you started
