Scarlett is trying to find the height of a dam. She stands 90 meters away from the dam and records the angle of elevation to the top of the dam to be 26º. Scarlett's height is 1.65 meters, so the height of the dam is meters.

well, first you would just look at the triangular part you have a right triangle with bottom side length 90 and angle 26 degrees, right, and you want the opposite side do you remember what trig ratio this would be? if not, I would be happy to refresh your memory

well for posterity's sake you have the adjacent side and want the opposite side, the trig ratio that involves these two sides is tan(theta) = opposite/adjacent plug in theta and adjacent to get the opposite then you have to add in scarlett's height back in (1.65m)
