I'd like to add my input. A translation up or down would cause a change to the second coordinate. In this case, (a,b) would change to (a, b+x) or (a, b-x), instead of the actual transformation to (-a,b)

Since one of the coordinates changes from positive to negative by the same value, that indicates a reflection. And since the coordinate that changes is the first one, and x-coordinate, that indicates a reflection over the y-axis
