SmokeyBrown:

Hi luckyz, and welcome to QuestionCove! So we have data from 6 years, and we know that the average of all 6 years is 241.9 Now, when we calculate an average we take the total amount divided by the number of samples. In this case, our sample is 6 because we have data from 6 years. We can do the reverse to find the total number of points, by multiplying the average by the sample size. What do we get if we multiply 241.9 by 6?

luckyz:

can i just get the answer

luckyz:

248.4

SmokeyBrown:

Yeah I suppose so. To get the value of the missing year, multiply 6 by 241.9 That gives you 1451.4 Then you subtract from that the value of all the years you do know 1451.4 - 266.3 - 215.2 - 230.5 - 282.0 - 234.6 And the final answer happens to by 222.8
