Hi pesp, welcome to QuestionCove! My understanding of the New Deal is that the government funded public works projects in order to give jobs to the vast amounts of unemployed laborers during the Great Depression. That being said, a lot of the projects of the CCC had to do with preservation of national parks and other natural resources. So, maybe 'the environment' is the correct answer?
