Not if its being used for medical use
I'm excited to hear people's point of view ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I think that people should be free to do what they want but they should consider the consequences
Sarah, do you know the current legal status of marijuana?
I guess she’s high.
I said I wouldn't be so I'm not :)
Okay (:

I suppose to answer the question, it would be yes but regulated.
Though this is contingent upon healthy levels of THC and CBD being balanced to reduce or negate the negative effects.
it should be
1. the government can subside it, which means it has revenue to pay for mental health facility or therapy that comes with life long abusers
2. right now Mexico's citizens are basically resorting to crime and drugs because of the criminalization of marijuana. Its basically like offshoring, its so much cheaper to get your weed from Mexico so you have people smuggling weed in and out of the country and causing it to not only be normal (therefore accepted) but you have people's lives being torn apart because they cant get out of the business or they already got caught. IF you make it legal to buy here in the United States, the black market won't be able to control the price, making it the country's job to make sure it's prices are competitive with drug trafficking, and also monitor those people who are buying insane amount of it
3. it would lower 'crime' because every minute someone gets arrested for possession
the only reasons i could be against it is, its possible that with marijuana legalized people are way more likely to drive high
and that will cause more dangerous accidents inevitably
i doubt this issue is going to be settled under Trump, although I think he'd like to. While there is so much controversy he is leaving it up to the states, but I believe in the next 2 elections there will be a bill to congress to at least decriminalize marijuana
I believe this matter is up to the government LOL. XD
Yes it is, but it is technically up to us. Gov 101, we elect representatives and those representatives create legislation for us.
Gabe a couple of thoughts I’d like you to ponder and respond to. Marijuana as a gateway drug and it’s abuse coupled with its adverse effects on brain development. Your third point works for anything that is a crime, and shouldn’t be used as an argument. The answer to your second point would be tighter border security which is actually on the Presidents agenda, thus it will reach Congress. As for your first point, that is like saying let’s sell heroin and cocaine and just use the profits to pay for all the ways abusers mess up their immune systems and bodies. Essentially, that argument can be used for any drug, and sounds like a bad idea.
To clarify my response to your third point, it would be the government selling those drugs, having federally decriminalized it. By the way @bm717 that is the legal status of marijuana. It is federally illegal.
not according to my dealer
nah border security isnt the answer, i dont think you understand the situation. i sympathize a bit (i think these people were mexico's problem but w.e its ours now) illegal immigration do you realize how long it takes to get a Visa or a green card and these families are fleeing insane violence in central A. Like a homocide every hour occurs in el salvador i believe. thats why we have so much illegal immigration, and also on average our immigrants are less involved with criminal activity than regular americans somehow. Its the fact that we arent getting them their citizenship quick enough that some resort to drugs and crime or violence to protect their family. bc they dont get good jobs that require citizenship and taxes. We'd also make alot of money of this bc imagine how many people would be pay taxing now lol. also yeah its valid. marijuana has medical uses, and regardless if public school taught u its a gAtEwAy dRuG, too many people are being put in jail for possession. do you realize jails are expensive? If the government has control of the supply it can charge excise taxes that will deter people from buying it. lets be real most people who are smoking weed arent heroin addicts okay, so dont compare them lm ofa. also look at cigarettes, they are worse than weed by a mile but they are legalized. and its not up to us shadow lol. its up to political agendas, politicians lie; just bc they care about the environment doesnt mean they are gonna take away from defense to invest in clean energy or pass legislation to subsidize energy efficient vehicles. works the same way for weed. its no longer unpopular opinion to say lets decriminalize weed, but crazy impactful laws usually aren't passed until people feel like they are overdue, then there are less complaints. I mean gay rights didnt exist till 2003 lmao. so when Congress feels like they can't put it off thats when they will open the discussion. so overall yuhI still agree that marijuana should be legalized, not even decriminalized
on the topic of illegal immigration tho, i do think if they find one with a criminal record they should automatically be deported. But only if they're caught, for now I dont see the benefit in deporting all illegal immigrants. because then it becomes a race war on hispanics and America's lifelong allegiance to white supremacy
