anyway we can start w/ the major bones, like the maxilla, frontal, zygomatic, etc. |dw:1536634591315:dw|
*frontal should be in front of the maxilla ugh i'm so tired*
anyway, again we can start w/ the foramen, with the most obvious one being the foramen magnum where the spine goes, then we have a pair of foramen on either side of the foramen magnum: the jugular foramen and the carotid canal |dw:1536634794301:dw|
then on the temporal bone we have the external meatus canal, which again, is the earhole and the stylomastoid foramen, which is near the styloid process |dw:1536634977400:dw|
on the palatine bone we have the greater palatine foramen and the lesser palatine foramen, with greater/lesser referring to the size of the foramen |dw:1536635212996:dw|
projecting from the sphenoid region we have the plates of the pterygoid process (this will probably be much more obvious in a 3-d model rip)|dw:1536635490642:dw|
then for the nose we have the internal naris (which I think? are the chambers of the nostrils) and the vomer that separates them|dw:1536635536550:dw|
next two are the mandibular fossa and the temporal squama|dw:1536635765506:dw|
under where the eyes would be (again I really hate this view) are the occipital condyles|dw:1536635847023:dw|
anyway i'm gonna start w/ the original image cause this is getting super crowded
|dw:1536636594312:dw| on the sphenoid bone we have two additional structures, the foramen ovale and the foramen lacerum
and finally i'm just gonna knock the last fiveish structures out b/c i'm getting tired >> the mastoid process is where the mastoid would be normally (behind the ear) the occipitomastoid suture is in the border between the mastoid and occpital bone the lambdoid suture is between the temporal + occipital while the external occipital tuberance sticks out from the posterior end and the superior nuchal line is the last structure on the diagram
