In time, of course, all issues get resolved, but not necessarily in the way you would like. D. The king ordered that all his subjects should show their allegiance through common forms of attire: yet many people continue to wear the traditional hats of their various regions.
i say answer b but im not sure
Do you know what's the difference between independent and dependent clauses?
yes but can you help me with this answer please is it answer b?
No since the semi-colon does not separate 2 independent clauses. "The packing instructions asked each camper to bring the following items" is an independent clause. "a flashlight, a sleeping bag, sunscreen, and a book for independent reading" is a dependent clause. A semi-colon cannot separate a dependent and independent clause.
thats not my question. my question is Which of these sentences uses correct punctuation? A. Francis had a lot on his mind that afternoon, he was concerned about his mother’s illness and about losing his job. B. The packing instructions asked each camper to bring the following items; a flashlight, a sleeping bag, sunscreen, and a book for independent reading. C. In time, of course, all issues get resolved, but not necessarily in the way you would like. D. The king ordered that all his subjects should show their allegiance through common forms of attire: yet many people continue to wear the traditional hats of their various regions.

What makes C incorrect, Brooklyn? o:
the punctuation isnt right i feel like
I feel as if choice A is incorrect. `Francis had a lot on his mind that afternoon, he was concerned about his mother’s illness and about losing his job.` Instead of a comma, I think it should be a semicolon. `;` Same goes for D. Instead of a `:`, I think it should be a semicolon. I believe C is correct.
oh ok i understand thank you
