@Vocaloid

Vocaloid:

hoo boy anyway let's start with y = 2x + 13 the y-intercept of 13 means there's a point at (0,13) then the slope of 2 tells us we go up 2 units and right 1 (remember rise/run) to get the next point after that just connect the two points with a straight line

Nicole:

Okay confused a bit lmao

Vocaloid:

do you know how to find (0,13) on a graph?

Nicole:

Yes let me show u one sec

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktquq5

Vocaloid:

good try but remember the x-coordinate comes first so (0,13) would be on the y-axis

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktqv39

Nicole:

what do we do now?

Vocaloid:

so then from that red dot, go up 2 units and to the right 1 unit, then draw the next point

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktqvrv

Vocaloid:

good then you should use whatever straight line tool yo uhave to draw a line connecting those two points and extending forever in both directions

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktqwk4

Vocaloid:

awesome then we repeat the process w/ the other three graphs B) 2x - y = 17 we can re-arrange this into y = 2x - 17 so same process as before, you would plot (0,-17), go up 2 units and to the right 1 unit, draw the next point, then connect

Nicole:

okay one sec

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktqxl1

Nicole:

should I name them a b c and d?

Vocaloid:

that would be a good idea

Vocaloid:

anyway while you're doing that I'll walk you through line C C ) y = -(1/2)x + 13 the y-intercept is (0,13) for slope -1/2 you will go over to the right 2 unit and down 1 units (rise/run), draw the 2nd point and connect

Nicole:

from what point?

Vocaloid:

(0,13)

Nicole:

got it one moment

Nicole:

there is a point there already so I connect from there right?

Vocaloid:

yes, from (0,13)

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktqz60

Vocaloid:

good now one more x + 2y = -14 there's a trick with this question, if you plug in x = 0 you get y = -7 and if you plug in y = 0 you get x = -14 so (0,-7) and (-14,0) should both be on line D so you can just connect these

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktr0bc

Nicole:

oof finally

Vocaloid:

almost, you put line D on (-16,0) instead of (-14,0)

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktr0rc

Nicole:

so thats it for this question?

Vocaloid:

yeah if they want you to say what shape it is, i think it's supposed to be a parallelogram?

Nicole:

Yes I thought the same

Vocaloid:

no idea what that has to do w/ superheroes

Nicole:

me neither lol

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktr0yc

Vocaloid:

hoo boy anyway item A is the intersection between lines A, and D, take a look at your graph to see what that is

Nicole:

What do you mean?

Vocaloid:

like, the point where lines A and D cross

Vocaloid:

oh well I think your graph is a little off whoops :S

Nicole:

LOL what should I change?

Vocaloid:

well the slopes/intercepts are correct it's just they're a little bit inaccurate in terms of how they're graphed (like they're a bit off-center) like, we could add more points on A like (-1,11) and (-2,9), etc. and re-do the line to connect all the points

Vocaloid:

dw:1536795334674:dw

Vocaloid:

dw:1536795340369:dw

Vocaloid:

so yeah it's just a little off

Vocaloid:

dw:1536795460361:dw

Vocaloid:

so if we look at the new interesection point it's at (-8,-3)

Vocaloid:

any way answer B is much easier, if you look at lines C and A they intersect at (0,13)

Vocaloid:

for answer C we are looking at lines B and D (your graph is a little bit off again but I can fix it)

Nicole:

Okayy

Vocaloid:

dw:1536795765458:dw

Vocaloid:

so if you look at where B and D intersect it's (4,-9) for blank C

Vocaloid:

anyway for blank D it's the intersection between line C and B which is hard to see but it should be about (12,7) for blank D

Vocaloid:

it's kinda hard to get the graphs perfectly right but the key would be to add more points on each line so the function is a bit more accurately graphed

Nicole:

http://prntscr.com/ktr5i5

Vocaloid:

what a weird question anyway it's shaped like a rectangle, other than that I have no idea what it's supposed to be

Nicole:

what does it mean by saying "Think about this! What item(s) would you place in a cache and where might you hide it? Write 1-2 sentences in the space below to describe your geocaching idea. "

Vocaloid:

it's just asking for your opinion, so basically what would you hide in a secret place and where would you put it personally I'd make a time capsule or something and bury it in my backyard, you can use this example or come up with something different

Nicole:

okay got it if you have a little time to help me with a quiz thats 9 questions that would be great. if not its fine. that would be the end of it tho LOL

Vocaloid:

is it like a timed graded quiz? I don't think I can according to the QC rules

Nicole:

Nope its not timed

Vocaloid:

I think it (should?) be ok as long as the assignment allows collaboration

Nicole:

Yes okay I will make a new post tho
