anatomy question. I am given an article about a baseball player who was hit in the eye with a baseball and experienced fluid leakage and vision loss. I am asked to identify the fluid (other than blood) that it was likely to have been. My best attempt: Cerebral spinal fluid?
I mean, is the fluid leaking from their eye or from around it?
that was my initial thought too but the article mentions "The scan showed a skull fracture that left his sinus cavity open to the brain." which leads me to believe it probably goes beyond the eye itself https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2795607-is-this-blood-or-brain-fluid-the-nightmare-of-a-liner-to-the-head?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_campaign=editorial&utm_medium=referral
reads article
Is this what you were referring to
yes
Well that wasn't clear there, but the image below is probably something to do more with pressure on the brain
It's various people so idk which one you're meant to explain lol
ah I didn't even catch that anyway it's probably Happ's injury
Well it says "felt blood" idk lol
Cerebrospinal fluid? Hmmm
I guess? I mean what else comes from your ear if you're impacted with blunt trauma to the face... I don't think anything else is near the ear that's fluid
unless he bust his eardrum, which he doesn't seem to have
alright, thank you for you help, I can double check with my professor tomorrow morning
np! I liked reading that from an anatomy perspective tbh, it made me think haha
