Why did President Kennedy never see the historic result of his speech? He was assassinated before Americans landed a man on the moon. His speech did not sway Americans to lend their support. Americans decided to wait and be more cautious than President Kennedy prescribed. The students of Rice University and other scientists did not have the money or ability.
