lolokrat:

which one is x1, y1 and which is x2, y2? (7, 2) and (15,8)

Vocaloid:

are you calculating slope? in that case you just have to pick one to be (x1,y1) and the other to be (x2,y2)

lolokrat:

yes, does it matter which pair is x1/y1 or x2/y2?

Vocaloid:

no, the only thing that matters is that you be consistent after you pick

Vocaloid:

for example, if you pick (7, 2) to be (x1,y1) then x1 must always be 7 and y1 must always be 2

lolokrat:

is there a pair that is easier to calculate normally ?

Vocaloid:

since the formula is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) it would be wiser to pick (15,8) to be your x2,y2 if you want to avoid negative signs in the answer

Vocaloid:

it really is a case-by-case basis though

lolokrat:

yeah, totally understand, thanks so much!
