can someone help me in history ASAP please put in your own words 1. An important feature of the U.S. Constitution is its provision for a system of checks and balances. Explain the purpose and structure of the system of checks and balances and give an example of how it works.

chaanah:

@Shadow can you help me

Shadow:

Didn’t we help you with this one before? Sounds familiar.

chaanah:

i think so but i got in trouble for plagiarizing :(

Shadow:

Did you copy and paste what we said?

chaanah:

no i put in my own words but still got in trouble

Shadow:

Well I am guessing you did to some degree otherwise you wouldn’t have gotten in trouble. Go back to that old post (check your profile and go under Questions Asked). Then read through what we said and formulate a response based off of your own thoughts.

ZoeyBiocth16:

The checks and balances system in the Constitution is important because it helps to prevent any one branch of government from gaining too much power. The three main branches are the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Here are some examples. The President can veto a bill passed by Congress, preventing it from becoming law. This is an executive branch check on the legislative branch. In turn, the Congress can vote to override that veto with a two thirds majority in both the Senate and House, and the bill will become law. This is a Legislative check on the Executive branch. Finally, the Supreme Court, when ruling on a case, decide to use its power of judicial review to declare some law of Congress or act of the President unconstitutional. This is a judicial check on both the executive and legislative branches.

chaanah:

im not the best at putting this kind of stuff in my own words

Shadow:

That is something you’ll need to do across life. It’s necessary for a job and if you want to be someone capable of standing up for themselves. Just try. This stuff is easy compared to college.

ZoeyBiocth16:
