iosangel:

Write an equation to represent the cost of the strawberries. Write an equation to represent the cost of the blueberries.

iosangel:

silvernight269:

For every one strawberry, it costs 2 dollars

iosangel:

yes

silvernight269:

Now what about the blueberries?

iosangel:

for every blueberry, it costs 3 dollars?

silvernight269:

No. Look at the graph again.

iosangel:

ok, how did you get "for every one strawberry, it costs 2 dollars though?"

silvernight269:

Yes

iosangel:

what

iosangel:

lol like how did you get that?

silvernight269:

X axis is how many fruits Y axis is the cost

iosangel:

yes so it costs 3 dollars right?

iosangel:

for every 2 blueberries it costs 3dollars

silvernight269:

Then hb for every one?

iosangel:

im in confusion

TwilightEsme:

I am confused as well

kittybasil:

try the slope-intercept form \[y=mx+b\]

kittybasil:

\(b=0\) for both of them since they both start out at \((0,0)\). So find the slope and replace \(m\) with that. Hint: to find slope, use point-slope form...\[y_{2}-y_{1}=m(x_{2}-x_{1})\]

kittybasil:

Point-slope form is used when you have two points (any points you pick off the same line), which are signified as:\[(x_{1},y_{1})\text{ and }(x_{2},y_{2})\]
