math help Of the coffee makers sold in an appliance store, 4.0% have either a faulty switch or a defective cord, 2.5% have a faulty switch, and 0.1% have both defects. What is the probability that a coffee maker will have a defective cord? Express the answer as a percentage.

Razor:

First Add 4.0% and 0.1 percent and what do you get?

Razor:

thats all ^

Razor:

in full terms: 4% either have a faulty switch or a defective cord. 2.5% have a faulty switch. This means 4-2.5=1.5 have ONLY a defective cord. Now, .1% have both defects( not included in the 1.5%). So, add this to the 1.5% to get 1.6%
