Identify the vertex of the graph. Tell whether it is a minimum or maximum. https://dlap.gradpoint.com/Resz/~0.i3roONUTNlwyUA6.BnmBoWT6SXtrY0WxoHLEXpRDX6asC6i4UTZKke4HoiI/7234256,D49/Assets/questions/quiz/algebra_1/al1quagr/IMG11128x.jpg

eviant:

@mhchen (-1,-2)?

bmiller16:

you mus be in school

mhchen:

Yeah

eviant:

so, the vertex would be a maximum since it's downwards

eviant:

@bmiller16 I'd rather ask for help if I'm not sure, instead of getting it wrong

mhchen:

Well actually. It's a minimum. if you go left of the vertex, it goes up. if you go right of the vertex, it also goes up. So the vertex is not the highest since it go up even higher. The graph does not go below the vertex, so the vertex is the smallest y-value of the graph.

bmiller16:

true

eviant:

@mhchen thanks

bmiller16:

your in 10th grade arent you

eviant:

why do you ask?
