lowkey:

For number three part a, I had |dw:1540850575705:dw|

lowkey:

That is correct, right?

mhchen:

Ye

lowkey:

|dw:1540850684267:dw|

mhchen:

yup

lowkey:

|dw:1540850768032:dw| For Part C number three

mhchen:

Yeah that seems right.

lowkey:

I still don't understand the difference between a speed and velocity

mhchen:

Easy. Speed is just how fast your going. Velocity is how fast AND a direction.

mhchen:

|dw:1540851040201:dw| The top graph has velocity 1. The bottom graph has velocity -1. But they BOTH have a speed of 1.

lowkey:

Alright hold on. So speed is just distance over time right? so total distance over total time. as of what i learned, velocity is change in x over time. is that overall time as well?

mhchen:

Only the average speed is 'total distance' over time. But yeah speed is distance over time. Only when you're finding the average velocity, you find the 'average change in x' over time.

lowkey:

https://prnt.sc/lc068d

lowkey:

Can you give me like a mini test?

lowkey:

That was the actual quiz I took lmao but i totally guessed.

lowkey:

NO WAIT HOLD ON STOP

lowkey:

DONT TELL ME THE ANSWER

mhchen:

o okey

lowkey:

YOU GOTTA QUIZ ME

mhchen:

wait like what do you mean

mhchen:

Make up a test?

lowkey:

Idk man like bring up the whole diagram and requiz me on the same questions on that quiz :/

mhchen:

o

lowkey:

my b, this might get confusing mixing my stupidity and physics

lowkey:

You're awesome quiz me on number 1

mhchen:

Determine speed from t=1 to t=3

lowkey:

0.8/2=0.4

lowkey:

(or the slope)

mhchen:

Correct

mhchen:

Determine Velocity from t = 5 to t = 7

lowkey:

you're going to be here for a long time (: we havent even started acceleration!!!

lowkey:

-0.25 because since the line is negative the value is negative

mhchen:

ye

mhchen:

Determine Average Velocity over the entire graph.

lowkey:

dang it

lowkey:

0.04286 meters per second and also velocity is m/s and so is speed, correct?

mhchen:

yeah

mhchen:

Average speed now.

lowkey:

I don't know how to do this problem LMAO

mhchen:

Well what's the total distance traveled?

mhchen:

It went from 0.2 to 1.0 which is 0.8m Then 1.0 to 0.5 which is 0.5m Right?

lowkey:

yes, so we only count the slanted lines, not the constant? and even though the speed is negative, you still add it then?

mhchen:

The speed can't be negative. There's no direction. Only velocity can be negative. And yeah only count slanted lines. The constant lines means that it's not moving.

lowkey:

OH YEAH DIRECTION IS ONLY FOR VELOCITY

lowkey:

so sorry you have to be put up with a dumb person

lowkey:

okay so it's 0.5+0.8/7

lowkey:

which is like 0.186

mhchen:

ye

lowkey:

and the velocity graph would be |dw:1540854430741:dw|

lowkey:

Then we have acceleration, which you're going to have to explain in very very very very very very very VERY detailed reasons

mhchen:

|dw:1540854563431:dw|

mhchen:

okay

lowkey:

Sorry lemme find my acceleration stuff :/

lowkey:

lowkey:

Can we do the whole workshet

mhchen:

Well alright then

mhchen:

So do you know how to do #1?

lowkey:

hold on so when a marble goes downa ramp, the speed is much faster at the ending point than the starting point correcy

mhchen:

Yeah

lowkey:

Alright so I got a |dw:1540856421024:dw|

lowkey:

for the position and time graph, is that right?

mhchen:

Ye

lowkey:

why is the velocity time graph a straight line?

mhchen:

I ate dinner cause you replied so late. |dw:1540860010918:dw| As the ball rolls down, it gets faster and faster. So the velocity gets bigger.
