could anybody explain an equation that makes a line perpendecular to (8,-5)?

Well, first we need to find the slope.

\[m = \frac{ y_{2} - y_{1} }{ x_{2} - x_{1} }\] m = the slope Perpendicular means it is opposite and reciprocal. for example: 3 is perpendicular to -1/3 Find the slope, change the sign, then take the reciprocal.
