how did women cope with the demands of emotional labor
@Shadow You're up
Apparently emotional labor is: "the process of managing feelings and expressions to fulfill the emotional requirements of a job." As per Wikipedia... This is past tense though ("did") so can you point to what time frame your lesson is referring to?
I wasn't given an exact date but, maybe late 2000's - 90's
Hmm well this is an obscure topic, have you tried researching it?
Yes! I haven't gotten anything...
Have you come across this article? https://www.forbes.com/sites/melodywilding/2018/06/06/dont-be-the-office-mom-how-emotional-labor-affects-womens-careers/
Yup, I read it
"Becoming more aware of emotional labor has drastically changed my own relationship. My husband has endured endless talks about the subject as I’ve written my way through this book, and I think we’ve both come out of it with a better understanding of one another and ourselves. Now that we can clearly see emotional labor playing out in our home, we’re better able to tackle it together." 1. Awareness - for women and other people 2. Talking about it - helps women process it
3. By talking about it and bringing about awareness, can work together with others to tackle the issue of it
As far as the demands of emotional labor
Thank you. Just to clarify, you believe that the way women coped with the demands of emotional labor was by talking about it?
