I know I posted a similar question but how is learning anatomy important in drawing?

WhipStreak23:

It is? I don't think so...Where did you hear it?

Rosebud24:

I just assumed

WhipStreak23:

Vocaloid:

learning anatomy (or proportions in general) is very important for creating proportional drawings. for example, if you want to learn to draw a person, you need to know the basic proportions (a human is about 7.5 heads tall, your elbows fall naturally at about the waistline, etc.) otherwise the quality of the art will suffer. once an artist has a good grasp of the fundamentals, they can start changing/exaggerating proportions, but the fundamentals still need to be there

thank you'
