Skyy123:

Determine the equation of the line with slope −2 that passes through the point M(−1, −3). 2x + y = −5 2x − y = −5 x − 2y = 5 x − 2y = −5 Hey new here can someone help me with 5 questions for math

dude:

Lines are written as \(y=mx+b\) m is the slope and b is the y-intercept The question tells us that the slope is -2, soo \(y=-2x+b\) The question give us the point (-1,-3) (Points are written as (x,y))

dude:

So substitute \(-3=-2(-1)+b\) Solve for b, do you know how to do that?

Skyy123:

@dude so it the answer A or B

dude:

It's A, lol \(2x+y=-5\) https://www.desmos.com/calculator/yzda66bm82

Skyy123:

Thanks

Skyy123:

Thank you @dude
