Which device is used? The protesters continued to gather on the marble steps of City Hall; they were a peaceful crowd that wanted to see changes made. The group of protesters who surrounded City Hall was not a fly buzzing in one's ear; instead, they were a swarm of bees that demanded attention.

I notice it says examine the photo, if there is a photo could you upload it here?
Buzzing is onomatopeia, becaude ‘buzz’ is a sound that the bees would make.
It helps provide a sense of the sound at the event.
Correction, the use of onomatopeia was to describe the nature of the crowd. Not an annoyance but a collective with a common cause.
That is the most obvious example to me. I am sure there are others but I’d have to review some terms lol.
@Ultrilliam If you copy and past the words right below where is says examine the photo and go to images, then you should find the exact photo. However, as i just joined this community, i do not know how to attach things just yet.
You can hit "Attach File" you can also drag and drop the file from your computer into the dialogue box, or even copy it from the internet and hit paste it into the dialogue box to upload it.
I tried the copy and paste thing and it didn't work. i will try the other thing. Here it is...

Long shot, but @JustSaiyan
`"they were a swarm of bees that demanded attention"` this is a metaphor for the idea that they weren't to be ignored, as swarming bees would sting and bite.
thanks uuu
You're welcome.
that answers every Q in that one?
I didn't explain why it's a type of figurative language. The metaphor is an example of figurative language because it doesn't mean they are literally a swarm of bees, but describes them in a way that the reader can imagine them to be, relentless and numerous.
ok ty
