Nevey:

Define resistance and describe what would happen to a light bulb if the voltage increased but the resistance stayed the same.

loveboy:

Let's start with the definition of resistance. As the name suggests, it means TO OPPOSE THE FLOW. So, Resistance in circuit is defined as opposition that a substance offers to the flow of electric current.

loveboy:

got it ?

Nevey:

yes

loveboy:

Great ! Now move on to next part

loveboy:

As we know that there is a relation between voltage and resistance. And the relation is because of power dissipated by the circuit ,

loveboy:

\[\large \bf P=\frac{V^2}{R}\]

Fluxuated:

resistance is the opposition to current flow. example, if a light bulb circuit and resistance remained the same and the voltage increased then the current being directly proportional to the voltage would increase causing the light bulb to increase in brilliance which means it would become brighter if the voltage increases high enough beyond the voltage rating of the bulb, the bulb will burn out

loveboy:

If Resistance (R) is constant and Voltage(V) is increasing , then the power through the bulb will be eventually higher . This would cause the bulb shine brighter and to an extent, it would burn out !

Nevey:

thank you flux :)

Nevey:

and loverboy

loveboy:

np :)

Fluxuated:

of course

Nevey:

flux, plz gift loverboy with a medal that way u both get one for ur work.

loveboy:

I'm okay ! Thanks tho

Nevey:

alrighty then it looks like we're all set to close. thanks guys. loverboy, would u like to be added into the list of ppl to be tagged? if u have a specific subject then u can tell me what that is and i will only tag u in those Q's. @loveboy

loveboy:

Tag me in math, physics, chem and computer science

Nevey:

alrighty! thanks! :)

loveboy:

your welcome :)
