help!

Cupcake123456:

Cupcake123456:

@AP @RichardWatterson7

RichardWatterson7:

The first one I believe

Shadow:

It's not the first one.

Shadow:

@Cupcake123456 Do you know what an equilateral triangle is?

Cupcake123456:

yeah

Shadow:

How many sides does it have?

Cupcake123456:

3

Shadow:

and they are all equal to each other

Shadow:

Do you know what the perimeter is?

Cupcake123456:

yeah they equal 60

Shadow:

@Cupcake123456 How do you get the perimeter of any shape?

Cupcake123456:

add up each side ?

Cupcake123456:

or do i multiply ?

Shadow:

Correct. So if you need to add up all the sides, which is three of them, and they are equal, and the total perimeter is (15x + 30)...how could we get the value of each side...

Cupcake123456:

i dont understand what u just said ?^

Shadow:

If it helps, think of an equilateral triangle with a perimeter of 3.

Shadow:

What is the value of each side

Cupcake123456:

60?

Shadow:

no, I think you are thinking about angles.

Shadow:

|dw:1542315141617:dw|

Shadow:

The measure of each angle in an equilateral triangle is 60. But, we want the sides. So if I add up all the sides, which are three, and each side is equal in length, and I get a value of 3, what must be the value of each side?

Cupcake123456:

180 degrees ?

Shadow:

That is the angle

Cupcake123456:

i DONT UNDERSTAND THIS AT ALL !

Shadow:

|dw:1542315289689:dw|

Shadow:

The value of the angles, are 60. The value of the sides, is 1

Cupcake123456:

ill just come back to that question later its aggravating me !

Shadow:

Do you know the difference between an angle and a side?

Cupcake123456:

unless u still wanna help

Cupcake123456:

yeah i was just confused

Shadow:

Yeah so, perimeter is adding up the sides, not the angles

Shadow:

Look at my example. It's an equilateral triangle so all the sides are equal in length. A triangle has three sides, so we have three sides that all have the same length. So if the total perimeter is three, I can divided by 3 (the total number of sides) to get the value of each side.

Shadow:

Which is 1..

Cupcake123456:

OK>>

Shadow:

So try and see how I solved my example, then look at how you'd solve your problem. Trust me, it is very simple. If you are confused, just let me know. I am here to help.

Cupcake123456:

would it be C ?

Shadow:

How'd you get that?

Cupcake123456:

i guessed

Cupcake123456:

or b ?

Cupcake123456:

okk...

Shadow:

\[P = (15x + 30) \rightarrow \frac{ 15x + 30 }{ 3 } \rightarrow S = 5x + 10\] Perimeter is 15x + 30 Divide it by 3, you get the value of each side

Cupcake123456:

so c ?
