migrainebye:

hey there. im dead tired, and have been studying for quite a while my geometry in prep for my quiz tomorrow. can someone explain the difference to me of SSS, SAS, and ASA postulates? and AAS theorem.

Vocaloid:

for each of these acronyms pay attention to the letters involved, and the order SSS = if two triangles both have three equal sides, they are congruent SAS = if two triangles share two sides and the angle in between them (this is important, the angle has to be in between the sides) they are congruent ASA = if two triangles share two equal measured angles, and the side in between them, they are congruent

Vocaloid:

Vocaloid:

note that SSA is not a valid theorem; if two triangles share two adjacent sides, but not the angle in between the sides, the two triangles are not necessarily congruent
