1. Angle FAP lol
Okay anyway, they said that FAP is a bisector to the angle EAF Bisector means it is splitting it in 2 If half the angle is 24, what should the total be?
I spent 15 min doing this and still cant figure it out...
48 degrees
|dw:1542681003965:dw| Lets say this angle is 100ยบ If it is spilt into 2, what are the angle measures? (In color)
Right
So \(2\angle FAP = \angle EAF\) AKA \(48=6x+5y\)
So i did a system. And the end results i got is 6x+5y=24 and -6x+6y=18
We can't solve for this yet (2 variables) Lets look at ECP is equal to 24, since they are bisectors \(5x+9=24\) Solve for x, once you get there you can do the first problem we just wrote
5x=15
Yes, now get x by itself
3
So i got y as 6
Right If you want to check this EAF should equal 48 \(6x+5y=48\) \(6(3)+5(6)=48\) \(18+30=48\) \(48=48 \checkmark \)
PCD should be 24 (since its half of the whole angle) \(2x+3y=24\) \(2(3)+3(6)=24\) \(6+18\) \(24=24\checkmark \)
Ok so i got all the measure anlge A=48 B=84 C=48
ECP should also be 24 (since its half of the angle) \(5x+9=24\) \(5(3)+9=24\) \(15+9=24\) \(24=24\checkmark \)
Ok i got all the angle. For part b (sorry) using the same diagram, if line segments AD=BC=30 and AC=48, find the length of BE
|dw:1542682604923:dw|
|dw:1542682611866:dw| The lines marked are equal Do you know pythagoreans theorem?
yes
uh. dude? i see blank
Oh frick why does lightshot not work for others
@Vocaloid
you are given that the triangle is isosceles which means the bisector BE cuts AC in half and creates two 90 degree angles so if you just look at the left half of the triangle you can see it's a right triangle so you can just use pythagorean theorem to find the missing side |dw:1542683272551:dw|
so BE^2 + 24^2 = 30^2 solve for BE
ok so i got 18
yeah that's what i got too
ok
