so the slant height is found through: L^2 = (0.5L)^2 + x^2

L^2 = 0.25L^2 = x^2

x^2 = 0.75L^2

so x = sqrt(0.75)L

so we go back to the shaded triangle I drew:

0.5L^2 + x^2 = 0.75L^2

x = sqrt(0.3125)L for the height of the whole pyramid

combining this with the x and y coordinates from before:
