For the graph, which are possible functions ƒ and g? https://dlap.gradpoint.com/Resz/~0.gsyqJFIicnUyUA6.1ipNM0RXMrziFMZIUysm-pECjcn-637I1KzHD6DVYJI/7234256,D76/Assets/questions/quiz/precalculus/pcalexpo/IMG73434.png

Do you know how to approach this problem?

no

Alright so this is an exponential function. An exponential function has the formula \[y=a^x\] where the a is the y value of the point (1, y) in a normal function (meaning the graph is not reflected at the y-axis)

lowkey:

What do you suppose the a variable is, looking at the first graph f?

eviant:

1

lowkey:

Remember, the a value is the y in the point (1, y)

eviant:

3?

lowkey:

Yep! So the formula for the f graph is \[y=3^x\] Looking at transformations, what do you think the g graph is? Remember that the g and f is similar.

eviant:

-1/3?

lowkey:

The negative would make the graph in the third and fourth quadrants. 1/3 is correct.
