A rational function is a quotient of two polynomial functions. Consider the rational function \[f(x) = 2-x\]where its graph is given here: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/kp8dsmhdvn Note that \(f\) is a rational function as it is a quotient of two polynomials, i.e. \(f(x) = \frac{2-x}{1}\) (\(1\) is a polynomial). We can see that \(f\) is positive for all \(x<2\) and negative for all \(x>2\)
