well, in general if you have, say, roots A and B, we would re-write the original quadratic function as

(x-A)(x-B) = 0, right?

so applying this logic to your roots 8 + 6i and 8 - 6i,

[x - (8+6i)][x - (8-6i)]
multiply this out and identify the c value
