lowkey:

hi how was ap gov

lowkey:

how was ap lit

Vocaloid:

Didn't take AP gov but I really liked AP lit. Your experience may be different depending on how much you enjoy reading and analytical writing. I think it's worth getting the credit as long as you can keep up with the reading assignments, and can write decently.

lowkey:

How similar from AP Lang? That class is a little iffy for me. I do just fine, but I don't score well on my essays 5/6 out of a 9 scale

Vocaloid:

from personal experience AP lang was more about writing/analyzing persuasive papers from a wider variety of sources, whereas AP lit is more like a traditional English class, more about analyzing novels and poetry

lowkey:

Ah I see, so more analyzing and stuff?

Vocaloid:

yes

nuts:

i took AP gov and AP lit concurrently my senior year of high school (2014-2015). I really hated AP lit (i'm looking at you, crime and punishment and heart of darkness). AP gov was a piece of cake and i didn't pay attention in class but got an easy 5.

I took AP Gov When you first start you gotta know all the differences between Federalists and Anti-Federalists There's a lot of reading to do and I BSed them all cause they're too hard for me to understand. You'll have to memorize a bunch of court cases and amendments later on. Learning about the constitution and the 3 branches of government should be easy. I also took AP Lit. My class had nothing to do with the exam. I got an easy A for the class but on the AP Exam I got a 2 cause we never prepared for it. The class is like kiddy work where the teacher is really nice and all you gotta do is read a book (probably hamlet) and then figure out like what the characters are thinking. The exam is like reading a passage and then selecting multiple choice questions for it so kinda like the ACT/SAT reading section. And then there's the writing part where you think about a book where a character experiences some kind of trouble and how they dealt with it.
