Mean, median and mode assignment help... (no straight up answers pls)
@Shadow
well u know what the mode is first of all
@dude Can you? Having a conversation with someone.
I really would like step to step help but mostly me doing the work
Which grade math is this
Does it matter
yes
Okay so this says that you 7 to set up 7 points if you want to get a median of 74 (and 78) you want those numbers as the 4th number on both sets Jones: j,j,j,74,j,j,j Smith: s,s,s,77,s,s,s (Median is 74+3) Do you know where minimum and maximum points?
Which grade math is this anyway
get off my post adevanathreeniogjorigerg ur not helping
@adevanath again if you have no idea how to help with this, don't reply
ok dude lemme write this all down 1 sec
I'm gonna write this here so I'm not confused Jones
minimum = 65 mean = 75 median = 74 mode= 76 smith
mean = 75 meadian = 3 points higher mode = 78 higher score= 81
Okay
jones:65,j,j,74,j,j,j smith: s,s,s,77,s,s,81
so what's next
We know the mode 76 (For Jones) so we have to at least have it in there 2+ times and if they are in order, it could only be 2-3 times The mode for Smith is 78 so we could only have it there 2 times jones: `65,j,j,74,76,76,76` or `65,j,j,74,76,76,j` smith: `s,s,s,77,76,76,81` I'll be back to finish this off in a few
okay... jones: 65,j,j,74,76,76,76 or 65,j,j,74,76,76,j smith: s,s,s,77,78,78,81
From here on it's mostly choosing a number that fits (You want to choose numbers that will give you the means given) Probably sure there is an easier way to do this but I cannot remember atm
I'm not really sure how to choose a number that would fit...
