@Shadow would you mind taking a look at this when you get a chance? he's into health/fitness so he might have some good suggestions
A great place to start is cutting out processed foods as ingredients for your recipes. Stick to the base stuff. Grown from a garden, cut from a tree, etc. With some research you can find the brands that stick to organic material. Avoid content with high fructose corn syrup and the like. You don't need that much sugar, only for a few bodily processes, and is only added to products for it's addictive effects.
Thank you shadow
Fish is one of the best things you can eat due to the high fat/protein content. Contrary to popular belief, you need fat and it is good for you. It just depends on what kind. You have have heard of fats such as saturated and trans fats. Stay away from those. Fish contains what you call omega fatties, which are essentially fats that are easy for your body to break down. One of the problems with fat is that you need it, but a lot of the processed/common foods out there contain the kind that are harder for your body to deal with. There is also the notion of removing carbs from your diet (pasta/bread) and sticking to fruits and vegetables as your carbohydrates.
My favorite meal that I make for myself is quinoa with seasoned and spiced fish (sardines, mackerel, tuna, etc) with salt + pepper, perhaps some olive oil, as well as some cheese.
Mexican is probably my favorite type at the moment, and cheese is an excellent source of calcium (especially since I don't drink milk nor eat ice cream).
Will do Shadow, thanks again!
