Any ideas/guesses?

FoxxTrot:

FoxxTrot:

was .5

umm:

I was trying to reply and break it down for you.. but it wouldn't let me type, my bad.

TheSmartOne:

So essentially what that little bar on top means is that the number under the bar repeats again and again so \( 0.\overline{5} = 0.5555555555555\) And the 5 repeats. What happens when you take a calculator and do 5 divided by 9? You'll get 0.5555555 We use that bar to signify that the 5 repeats forever Another example is 5/11 = 0.4545454545 The 45 repeats again and again So if we put a bar on the 45, than that means we have 0.454545 repeating on and on Like this \(0.\overline{45}\)

TheSmartOne:

Hopefully that makes sense :)

FoxxTrot:

thank yew

TheSmartOne:

Of course, my pleasure!
