lowkey:

If the rate constant is higher, is the half life the shortest?

lowkey:

@Vocaloid @Luigi0210

lowkey:

I have two reactions and one reaction has a rate constant of 14 while the other one has 6. How can I know which one has a longer half life?

Vocaloid:

|dw:1549603228190:dw| generally, yes since the rate constant is in the denominator, larger rate constant ---> smaller half life

lowkey:

Process 1: rate=k[a], k=6.79 m^-1 min^-1 process 2: rate=k[c], k=14.55 m^-1 min^-1

lowkey:

whoa how did it bold

Vocaloid:

you typed [ b ]

lowkey:

Oh that means bold? Either way, larger rate constant means smaller half life, right? thank you
