Research question ideas for Physical & Cognitive Development in Infancy.
@Shadow
Is this good: Does using the bottle till late increase your chances of having more cognitive or physical setbacks?
till late is vague
okay so maybe
https://cirt.gcu.edu/research/developmentresources/tutorials/question "Questions that can be answered with a "yes" or a "no" should also typically be avoided."
This question can be answered with a yes or no.
That site actually has some good tips. I would recommend scrolling to the bottom and viewing the questions don't work and those that do. You can see the elements that make a good research question. The site also outlines those elements specifically.
What about: How does using the bottle past the age that they should affect their cognitive and physical development?
The site recommends that you do research.
The research I would recommend is defining the typical age in which you stop bottle-feeding a child.
I would imagine the verbiage being something akin to "up to 2 years of age."
So "past two years of age"
no later than 1yr - 18months
There you go
I would convert the year into months
The differentiation in units is a bit awkward.
12-18 months is more smooth
What about: How does using the bottle past 12-18 months for a baby affect their cognitive and physical development?
using the bottle is vague Try: How does using the bottle to feed a baby past 12-18 months affect their cognitive and physical development?
Being specific is important. I could be using the bottle as a means of entertainment.
OH lol, true
okay and then a discussion question also. So how about: How does letting your child use some sort of device such as and IPAD or Phone affect them to obey you?
and->an
affect them to obey you -> affect them obeying you
you could keep it broad but specific enough with: How does letting your child use an electronic device for entertainment...
Unless you want to hone in on devices with screens specifically.
ugh it needs to be the topic of physical and cognitive developemtn so
So maybe how it affects their brain ??
It needs to be both physical and cognitive, or just one of the two
one
Then be creative. There are tons of opportunities there.
Okay.
It's a simple format: How does _blank activity_ affect _cognitive or physical aspect of human child_
Though this is specifically a discussion question..
Do you have an example of those?
How does having too much screen time affect cognitive or physical aspect of an infant.\
I assume these differ from research questions in their structure that's why
Because right now this is a research question..
Uh Zarkam, that was a placeholder. Not something to copy and paste.
Lol . Give me a second I will think of one
It has to be a specific element lol
After you figure that out, circle back and see if you can get me an example of a discussion question, so I can see how they differ from research questions. I assume they do.
What activities/exercises can you start doing with your infant that will help their cognitive and physical development
What activities/exercises can you start doing with your infant early on that will help their cognitive and physical development
What activities/exercises can you start doing with your infant early on that will help boost their cognitive and physical development? ****
So rather than: (Research Question) How does x influence y It is: (Discussion Question) What x influences y
What x influences y to achieve z....
What activities/exercises can you start doing with your infant early on that will help boost their cognitive and physical development and avoid any type of developmental problems?
I added a "z"
Oh is that one yours or is that an example
Because the z was already there. x was the activity y was the infant z was the development
What activities/exercises can you start doing with your infant early on that will help boost their cognitive and physical development? ****
This is mine, I came up with it
Oh okay. I was seeing if you could give me an example from your lesson so I could know what discussion questions are supposed to look like.
I formatted my response based off of your example, which we don't know to be correct.
Discussion Question: How much of an impact does social referencing have on an infant? (Ex: can it affect their humor, such as what they choose to laugh at) Discussion Question: What might be so effective ways of improving or advancing the development of an infant's fine-motor skills and gross-motor skills?
Here are two examples
What/how much does x influence(s) y in z. x= DV y = IV z = Test group
Your example is fine then.
So I think mine covers all those
Yay. Thanks!!!!
No problem
