Analyze “To the Maiden”
Title: “To the Maiden”
1 picture that reflects how the maiden feels about the sea (label it “Maiden’s Perspective”)
1 quote from the poem that reflects how the maiden feels about the sea (label is “Maiden’s Perspective”)
1 picture that reflects how the sailor feels about the sea (label it “Sailor’s Perspective”)
1 quote from the poem that reflects how the sailor feels about the sea (label it “Sailor’s Perspective”)
2-3 sentences that explain why the sailor and the maiden have different perspectives of the sea.

Option # 2 – Analyze “We Real Cool” or “The Divide Speaks of Rivers”
Both of these poems have a unique viewpoint because it is the viewpoint of more than one person. Here is what you need to do on this page:
Write 2-4 sentences describing the viewpoint of the poem
Include 1 picture that shows the viewpoint of the poem
Include 1-2 other pictures that reflect the poem
Write 1-2 sentences that describes the theme (message) of the poem

Option # 3 – Favorite Poem
On this page, choose the poem you liked best out of this unit (pages 60-72). Make sure you have the following:
The title of the poem
2-3 pictures that relate to the poem
2-3 sentences that describe the message (theme) of the poem
2 -3 sentences that explain why you like the poem

Option # 4 – Write your own Stanza
Choose 1 poem from this unit and add your own stanza.
Your stanza must:
Be 4-6 lines long
Reflect the tone of the poem
Reflect the structure of the poem (if it’s a rhyming poem, your stanza should rhyme; if it’s not, then it shouldn’t).
On this page, you must also include:
The original poem (add your stanza in where it goes!)
2-4 sentences that describe why you created your stanza like you did
1-2 pictures.
