I've read through a little bit and several poetic devices jump out. @hallm have you identified any so far?
Within the first stanza you can find imagery, personification, similes, PoV (2nd person, 'you'), etc
i think i do but its a little confusing because of the wording of the question do i find all of those or do i find the ones that go with the meaning.....
Similes are the easiest as you just need to look for like/as then see what's being compared.
1. Identify the poetic devices in the poem 2. Explain how they illustrate the meaning of the poem
ahh ok that makes more since now
Example: Personification "when the winter comes to cover you" "the cold cannot bite through" The poetic device of personification lends the aspect of the winter being as encompassing as a 'warm coat' (simile) which is a human element, as well as showing the vicious nature of the cold by giving it the aspect of being able to 'bite.'
ohhhhhh
