Volume of a cylinder
@Hero
@Pixel do you remember the formula for Volume of A Cylinder?
Pi x r^2 x h
i did it myself and got 41872.15 but i don't think it's right
Oh, okay, let me check that real quick.
That's way off. How'd you get that?
22.25 x 2.20 / 2
then used my cylinder volume calculator and got it
fractions throw me off
The height is 22 + 1/4, the diameter is (22 + 2/5) but we're supposed to half that to get the radius so r = (2 + 2/5)/2 = 1 + (2/5)/2 = 1+ 2/10 = 1 + 1/5
So the volume of the cylinder is (3.14)(22.25)(1.2)^2
so its 1.20 x 22.25?
okay hold on
100.66
cubic units
thats already added
in my "box"
Coolio
i have another im not sure of
What is the volume of a right circular cylinder with a diameter of 46.25 cm and a height of 18.5 cm? Enter your answer in the box. Use 3.14 for pi and round only your final answer to the nearest hundredth.
31080.29
Why are your answers always so astronomically high?
I dont know x"D
im still getting 31080.29
@Shadow
I don't think you need help with this as much as you need to double-check your math and make sure you're dividing fractions correctly. You should at least know that the radius is half the diameter. Once you get that, the rest is just plug and play.
i did that
46.25 / 2 = 23.125
Show all of your work.
sorry computer froze had to restart it
It's probably correct but you should learn how to use a handheld calculator to compute values.
i know how to use one, i'm out of town and i forgot to pack it
Are you sure you chose "Volume of a RIGHT cylinder" when you computed that?
Okay, that's probably it then.
so its 31080.29
I haven't calculated it by hand yet, but I'm confident it is correct since you used Google's Right Cylinder Calculating Algorithm. Back in my day, we didn't have such technologies and had to compute everything by hand.
