Do you think having diversity in politics is a good thing? Why or why not? (Diversity meaning having both women and men of different ages, backgrounds)

Having diversity in politics is very important, in my opinion. Without diversity, everyone would have the same viewpoints on everything and eventually it might fall out of line with the views of the people, eventually leading to civil unrest. The backgrounds of the individuals shape their viewpoints on certain topics or people, making them who they are, rather than a bunch of like-minded individuals.

As Nick said, diversity is important in order to have a variety of viewpoints. Although these viewpoints can be ascertained through other means. I would also say that identity politics is dangerous business, and should be taken seriously.
