we would need to know how much mass is on the other side of the scale. but since mass of paperclips = mass that's already there, if the scale is to be balanced, then you can simply divide mass/2.7 to get the volume of aluminum required, then divide by the amount of aluminum per paperclip to get the number of paperclips
