Triston Woodruff English 4 Deborah McDermet 1 March 2019 My Motivation in SypherPK. When people think about heroism or someone who never does anything wrong; a role model that they want to be like and copy if you will. People will often go back generation upon generation to the old time tales that are never really brought up nowadays. No one ever brings up people who exist even within the past entire generation. Do people just believe there is no one worthy of being looked up to? Why do they just say half heartedly that they look up their parents; and yes, some of them truly do respect and look up to their parents, but come on. Most people tend to turn and look up to a fictional character that their favorite celebrity plays.
Thoughts so far? It's going to be a paper in someone who I look up to and who motivates me.
Woodruff <3 c'x
e.e I messed up
Nick are you familiar with you SypherPK is?
I look up to Stephen Hawking and Archimedes.
I can't say that I do, unfortunately.
Oh. That's. Ok. This will be interesting. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I wanna see it when you're done.
Did you look up sypherpk?
Yes I did, xD
For one good example, a lot of people look up to Superman because he’s made out to basically be the perfect man, so people end up feeling as if they are a hero, and then becomes the trend where everyone wants to be just like him. When in reality they are basically being asked to be dipped in radioactive waste, or be born on a different planet. They want to look at what is in front of them, instead of wanting to be Superman, why not try to be Christopher Reeve (Superman), or Brandon Routh (Superman Returns). People never look at who is behind the mask, (in this case the glasses)
That's what ive added so far
This is a very very good start. A very "heroes can be anything, not just men behind masks" type of thing. You don't see much of this anymore.
I got a question for you nick, do you think the firefighters in 9/11 were heroes?
Of course. You'd have to be to run into buildings that were not only ablaze but literally collapsing in on themselves.
To me they were not heroes, would you like to know why?
Certainly.
What separates the fireman from a guy in a business suit in the street?
They save lives. Or at least they try. Putting their lives at risk for the slim chance of saving someone else's. It's the selfless act that makes them a hero.
But in the same turn, you don't have to do something extreme to be a hero. Simply providing for your friends or family can make you a hero. It's all in the eyes of the beholder.
Yes, but on the other side, the Fireman is paid to do that, the business man on the other hand, if he were to run into the building, even if he would die in the building while saving no one, would be considered a hero even by definition because he showcased a "courageous" act. The fireman couldn't be a hero for going into a building that was on fire because frankly, he signed up for it.
I feel like I am offending people.
Actually, there are volunteer firemen, some even that aren't paid, but still take the opportunity to put their lives at risk to save another.
Exactly, that to me is still a job, it's the difference between knowing that you may be called, and selflessly throwing yourself into a burning building, do you see where I am coming from?
Yes. Your view of a hero is more likely a man walking down the street on his own time that rushes into a burning building, not the ones paid to do so. As for this offending people, this could actually be a enlightening topic to have here.
True, but I've already offended someone in my English 4 class by making the same points.

People never look at who is behind the mask, (in this case the glasses). They would rather look up to someone artificial, who only helps people because he is told to and has to, they never look for the natural emotion, someone who is nice to you because they can be, someone who will take time out of their day to spend with you just because they can, not because they have to. For a long time I have looked up to Sypher Ali, more widely known online under his alias, SypherPK. Yes, it seems a little childish if you will to look up to a Fortnite steamer, but that is not how I see it. SypherPK [age 22] takes hours out of his day doing random things online just trying to make the people in his chatroom happy. He could just ignore it and play the game as seriously as he wants to, but instead he goes and takes away from seriously playing the game to entertain the people in his chatroom.
Tis what I have so far. I have to go, I will talk to you later Nick, take care bro
Take care. This is very good. And I wouldn't worry about offending people. It's part of life. I wouldn't let it sway your viewpoints.

For a long time I have looked up to Ali Hassan, more widely known online under his alias, SypherPK. Like some people do, I say this because nowadays it is incredibly often someone is just handed something (small loan of a million dollars). Ali began his YouTube channel back in 2011; however, he did not start full time uploading full time until mid 2012 when he began uploading RuneScape videos. Nowadays, roughly 8 years later and he has amassed over 1.547M subs on YouTube and collected over 2.077M followers on Twitch. Since his career on Twitch began in 2012 he has played over 35 games for a total of 6874 hours (a total of just under 287 days of gaming). While over half of that time has been put into a game that in the course of 5 months took the world by storm. In a matter of 5 months the hit game Fortnite had amassed 125 million players worldwide and in the course of 3 months over 2.7B hours were logged globally. This game is where Ali Hassen spends all of his time currently, he has become a professional player who has played across multiple PRO/AM tournaments. What makes me look up to Ali Hassen (SypherPK) is the fact that he obvious has a TON of skill, and what does he do with that skill, uses it for the enjoyment of other people; to me a even better example is that there are dozens of videos all across his channels and others that captured it off his stream of him taking anywhere between 20 minutes to several hours trying to help a 8-year old or a 11-year old get their first win on the game, just to make their day.
