recall that genetic engineering is the modification of an organisms DNA/genetic material to confer some advantage to itself, or its offspring by default, "growing organically" is not an option as genetically engineered foods typically do not qualify for the organic label "modifying pests" is not a good choice either, as we are modifying the crops, not the pests that prey upon them between - surviving droughts and - maturing longer which one is an an advantage conferred through genetic engineering?
