Best way to study for an exam (PSYCH MAJOR) in order to ace it. I understand the material at the time then when an exam comes up, I never know the most efficient way to study and even when to start. Students around me say they studied and get nothing below 90's. I need advice and tips on what the best way to study for an exam is in college.

Put things in your own words. This ingrains the concept. You can do this by rewritting notes, clarifying them. You can also write a tutorial and teach the concepts. This illustrates the key concepts of the material.
hell if I know but in all seriousness I look at past exams and make sure I know the solutions without having to look at my notes if there's vocabulary or other rote memorization tasks I make flashcards, and organize them into three piles (one pile for words I can get without thinking too hard, another pile for words I have to think a lot to answer, and another pile for words I have no idea about) and I repeat the second two stacks, moving cards to the first stack as I learn them well
as for when to start, personally if I start too early I forget the stuff I studied at the beginning but obviously if I study too late I won't have enough time, so 5 days before the test is when I at least try to start (I'm really bad though I procrastinate to the night before a lot)
I also have an app on my phone that's basically a timer that blocks everything else until the timer is done
it's called Forest
Thank you so much for the tips!!
