Which best describes onomatopoeia?

Eiwoh2:

Is this an answer choice based question or is it simply asking to describe this term?

austinsmith:

Which best describes onomatopoeia? It compares two dissimilar things. It imitates the sound it is describing. It ascribes human characteristics to inanimate objects. It contains a hidden meaning that is different from its literal meaning.

Eiwoh2:

Thank you. So onomatopoeia is a form of figuative language, and based on what I was taught, the answer choice that mostly fits this term is it imitates the sound it is describing.

Eiwoh2:

Well, according to the sentence, we can immediately cross out metaphor and idiom. And it isn't alliteration. So my guess would be hyperbole , because it sure seems to exxagerate this sentence.

Which question best determines a story's mood? When does the story take place? Why did the author write the story? What happens at the end of the story? How does the story make readers feel?

Eiwoh2:

Well, mood and feel seem awfully similar, and so according to that connection, it would make sense that the question would be How does the story make readers feel?

Eiwoh2:

How many questions do you have, sir/ma'am?

austinsmith:

alot

Everything was suddenly out of tune, like a broken accordion. Where did I fit into this crazy picture?
